Wonderbikes for Wonderhub

We love working with our clients, and when it’s something as fun as the Children’s Discovery Museum – recently rebranded as Wonderhub – we love to do everything we can to support them. Last week they held their annual “What’s for Dinner” gala and we were happy to sign on as a Curiosity Sponsor. In addition to the sponsorship, we had the opportunity to donate an item for the silent auction, which we saw as the perfect opportunity to have some creative fun.

Rather than targeting the adults attending the event, we thought it would be better to create something for their kids to enjoy. We ordered a strider bicycle and tricycle. The bikes themselves were quality, but being made out of plain wood, they didn’t have the extra pizzazz that we like to add to everything we do. So we took it as an opportunity to collaborate with our new friends, and other Wonderhub sponsor, Lazer Autobody.

We provided them our Island brand colours, and they took the disassembled bikes to their shop. We weren’t certain how they would turn out, and the folks at Lazer Autobody were maybe just as concerned, as they’re usually painting cars, not wooden bikes. But we were all excited to see how they turned out.

When we received the bikes back, the results were incredible. We added helmets, water bottles, backpacks, and a few other goodies to round out the package.

The bikes were a huge hit at the event, and we couldn’t have done it without Lazer Autobody’s generous help. We were happy to have a small part in the $125,000+ raised for Wonderhub that evening. And now that we know what Lazer can do, we’re thinking of new things to get them to paint 🙂
